- Zoom will end support for its Zoom Rooms Android Controller application on specific legacy hardware devices including the Trio 8800 in March 2023, releasing the final version 5.14.0.
- The Trio 8800 Zoom Rooms application will likely continue working until early 2024 which is when zoom anticipates its minimum required software version will be beyond 5.14 for Zoom Rooms.
- We recommend upgrading to the Trio C60 or TC10 Touch as soon as possible.
Zoom Rooms Controller App Will Be Available On Trio 8800 Until Early 2024
In March 2023, Zoom will release the final version of its Zoom Rooms Android Controller application, version 5.14.0, which will only support certain legacy hardware platforms. The affected legacy hardware, which includes the Polycom Trio 8800, will no longer receive updates due to the lack of operating system updates. The Zoom Rooms Android Controller version 5.14.0 on these devices is expected to reach end of life in February 2024 and stop operating.
Zoom recommends replacing affected legacy hardware with a device from the Zoom Rooms Certified Hardware Controllers list or through the Zoom Rooms Hardware as a Service program. Customers can check if they have deployed Zoom Rooms Android Controllers on affected legacy hardware by reviewing the data in the Zoom admin portal.
